Mrs. Shirley Joyce Williams' Obituary
Mrs. Shirley Joyce Williams departed this life on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at the age of 76.
She was born and raised in Parkin, Arkansas on April 11, 1948 to the late Johnny and Irene Phillips Cole. After graduating high school, she became a cosmetologist and eventually opened Shirley's Beauty Salon in Parkin which she owned for over 30 years.
On July 25, 1966, she married Johnny with whom she has shared her life for the past 58 years. In that union, they built a wonderful life together and raised their three loving children living in Chicago, Illinois and St. Paul, Minnesota before settling in Memphis in 1980. They opened their home and their life to all of their family and friends. This home was filled with love and laughter.
Mrs. Williams loved the Lord and her family. She is survived by her husband, Johnny of Memphis; her children, Lance Williams and his wife Pamela of Byhalia, Mississippi; Derrick Williams of Memphis; and Dr. Johna Williams Taylor and her husband Garland of Lakeland, Tennessee; her sister, Iretha Ross of Parkin, Arkansas; two brothers, Ralph Cole (Barbara) of Shoreview, Minnesota and Wesley Cole (Lisa) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
