Shirley White's Obituary
Shirley Mae White, 88, resident of Memphis, TN, passed away on December 7, 2012. She was a lifelong member of Merton Avenue Baptist Church and a longtime employee of Sears, Roebuck, & Company.Shirley better known as “Nana”, was a devoted mother and is survived by her 3 daughters, David & Scherry Strickland Charles & Paula Farrar, and Donna Pruett. She was a loving grandmother of 8, and great-grandmother of 12. She is proceeded in death by her husband of 49 years, A.B. White.She was born on September 25, 1924. She was a wonderful woman of God, with a lively sense of humor, and a generous heart. She was friend to all, and could always be counted on when help was needed. She loved to sing hymns and could erupt into song on a moments notice, no matter the time or place.She led a wonderful Christian life by example. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Heaven has gained a true gem, and we were blessed to have had her for these 88 years!The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm, Sunday, December 9, 2012 and a funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, December 10, 2012 both at Memorial Park Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.Memorial Park Funeral Home Phone: (901) 767-8930 “Behind the Stone Wall”
