Shirley L. Waldo's Obituary
Shirley Waldo, 95, of Memphis, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2010. She was an artist who had a natural talent for painting when she was very young. Later in life while living in Houston, TX, Shirley, began taking art lessons and enjoyed her painting for many years, selling some of her work and giving many pieces to lucky members of her family and friends. She particularly loved painting landscapes, orientals, and portraits. Shirley was preceded in death by a brother George Bell, and a sister Irma Rena. She leaves her husband, Ed Waldo of 64 years, a son Bill Petty, a step-daughter, Diane Johnson, five granddaughters, Tori Petty, Paige McKee, Glenda Milligan, Vicki Grant, and Lori Johnson, a grandson Chris Johnson, six great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter. She also leaves a brother Bill Bell, a sister Frances Wellman, and many nieces and nephews who always thought aunt Shirley was fun to be with. She will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends from 1-2:30 on Monday, March 15, 2010, with funeral services to follow at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
