Shirley Porter's Obituary
Shirley Camburn Porter, 71, passed away November 12, 2016. She was born February 18, 1945 in Walnut, MS. She graduated from Memphis Technical High School and the University of Memphis. She was a retired beloved preschool and special needs teacher. One of her many God-given talents was how she loved and related to children. She volunteered much of her time in Community Bible Study, Grace Evangelical Church, Collierville Food Pantry, and with neighbors and members of the community. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, John Porter; children, Bob Porter (Sveta), Sheryl Ellis (Leonard), Scott Porter, and Mary Watts (Jonathan); sister, Janice Townsend; and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edith and Leslie Camburn and siblings, Dot Alexander, Kenny Camburn, and Wayne Camburn. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, November 15 and funeral services will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 16 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.
