Shirley Hisky Lete's Obituary
Shirley Hisky Lete, 91, passed away at home on October 21, 2016. She was born October 29, 1924 in Memphis, TN to the late James Lawrence Hisky and Mildred Harwell Hisky. Shirley was a graduate of Humes High School. She was a dedicated, loving, wise mother and her children were always first in her life. She was also a talented seamstress. Shirley worked until her retirement as a P.B.X. operator for Sears Roebuck. Shirley was preceded in death by her three brothers, James L. Hisky, Jr., Charles Edward Hisky and John M. “Jack” Hisky. She is survived by her three children, Anita Smith (Gary) of Memphis, TN,Connie Ennis of Marietta, GA and Robert Lete (Sue) of Bartlett, TN. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Bradley Chandler (Jessie), Patrick Ennis (Jasmine), Meghan Ennis, T.J. Lete and Jeremy Lete; her sister-in-law, Harriet “Jean” Duke Hisky and seven Hisky nieces and nephews, Linda Landon, Cheryl Smith, Larry Hisky, Theresa Bargiacchi, John Michael Hisky, Patricia Meyer and David Hisky. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 24 from 5-7 pm and a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 25 at 2:30 pm both at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will follow service in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.“Celebrating Life….Behind the Stone Wall.”
