From those of us who knew and loved Doug, please know that our collective and individual prayers are with the entire Hixon family as you go through this most difficult time of your lives. Doug was our friend, mentor, and Brother in the Bond at the University of Virginia and he will never be forgotten. We shall always cherish our memories together at 1 University Circle at the Phi Delt house and one great man entered Heaven on January 20th, 2013. Sending condolences to the family. I worked at Le Bonheur many years, and when I found out I was expecting a baby who would need surgery at birth, I contacted Dr. Hixon. He was so kind and understanding. He operated on my son two times and proved what a skilled surgeon he was. He treated us with all the care and compassion possible. He was certainly a man of honor and integrity—it showed in everything he did. Dr. Hixon will be greatly missed, as a superb physician but an even better Christian man. Ginger Carney Memphis, TN
