Sharon Elaine Lockhart's Obituary
Sharon Elaine LeClear Lockhart was born October 16, 1943 to Marguerite Moore and Ted Eugene LeClear In Waukegan Illinois. She was a loving and devoted wife, sister, mother, mother-in-law, aunt and Meme.
Sharon married her best friend Tom Lockhart on October 26, 1962 in Memphis Tennessee. There’s was the first big wedding in the new sanctuary at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Aldersgate became their church home and where they raised their two daughters. A woman of many passions after her family was her church and volunteering for United Methodist Neighborhood Center of Memphis. Teaching Bible study in the Oxford Sunday school class gave her so much joy. Some of her other passions were University of Memphis especially Tiger basketball, reading, cooking, entertaining, and going to the beach. She absolutely adored her 5 grandchildren and had a special bond with each one. She spent much of her career as an office manager in the pharmaceutical and agriculture industry. Sharon is survived by her loving and devoted husband Tom Lockhart, brother Dennis LeClear, daughters Michele Watts (Keith), Christy Nettles (Jerry), grandchildren Taylor Watts, Alexandra Watts, Thomas Watts, Henry Nettles and Blake Nettles. She was preceded by her parents and nephew Michael LeClear.
The visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until the service time at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday November 23 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church 4459 Willow Road Memphis TN 38117. Burial will be held at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
