Sharon Crews' Obituary
Sharon Lynch Crews of Germantown, TN passed away on May 29, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 63.
Sharon was born on September 9, 1957 in Memphis, TN, the daughter of Jack and Mary Louise Lynch.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Lauren Crews, her mother, Mary Louise Lynch, her sisters, Janeen Nickell (Paul) and Nancy Tarr (Rick), and many beloved family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Jack Lynch, and her brother, Bill Lynch.
Sharon graduated from Wooddale High School in Memphis, TN in 1975. She married her beloved husband Lauren in 1989 at Bethany Christian Church in Eads, TN. She was a lover of children, animals, and enjoyed gardening in her free time. She was a member of the “Lunch Bunch” bowling league at Cordova Bowling Center for over 20 years. She loved giving all of her friends and family creative nicknames in order to make each person in her life feel special. Additionally, she loved visiting with friends and neighbors on her front porch. Sharon was known for her kind heart and caring personality. Undeniably, selfless, Sharon always put the needs of others before her own. Sharon was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many.
Sharon loved her nieces and nephews dearly and treated them as her own. She always made sure that everyone felt celebrated and loved with every milestone and accomplishment. She was also known to find any excuse to have a party, which were always full of laughter, games, music, and dancing.
On behalf of Sharon’s family, we would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and care team at West Cancer Center and Research Institute, specifically Dr. Linda Smiley, Dr. Lee Schwartzberg, and Dr. Michael Berry for the outstanding service and care they provided her. Additionally, we would like to thank her dear friend and neighbor, Dr. Margaret Todd, for her friendship and her commitment to Sharon’s care throughout her ongoing battle with cancer.
A service to honor and celebrate Sharon’s life will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery at 5668 Poplar Avenue in Memphis, TN on Saturday June 5, 2021. The visitation will begin at 4 p.m., with the memorial service starting at 5:30 p.m. There will be a reception on site to follow. Sharon’s remains will be laid to rest at a later date during a private ceremony.
