Sharon Steck Counce's Obituary
Mrs. Sharon Steck Counce age 69 of Germantown, Tennessee passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022.
She was born on November 15, 1952 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to the late Wayburn and Fred Steck.
She retired after 28 years as a teacher and librarian with Shelby County Schools. Her last assignment was as the librarian at Dogwood Elementary School, which she opened after the school was built. She converted to Catholicism, turned into a faithful disciple and served in many roles such as Eucharistic Minister, RCIA sponsor and PRE teacher. She enjoyed cooking and sewing, especially with her grandchildren, who together cooked many treats and stitched up many projects.
Sharon leaves behind her husband of 48 years, Philip F. Counce; three children, Christina Counce May (Edward), Philip F. Counce, Jr. (Kary) and Jennifer Counce Parthenais (Taylor); ten loving grandchildren; and two sisters, Carol Steck Graw (Mike) and Deborah Steck Alexander (Michael).
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit , 2300 Hickory Crest Dr. with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the Catholic Church of Holy Spirit, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Catholic Charities.
