Shannon McClure's Obituary
Liza Shannon McClure, 66, passed away March 20, 2013, at Germantown Methodist Hospital, following a long illness. Her son was at her side. Shannon was born December 24, 1946. She graduated from the University of Missouri, and received a doctor of jurisprudence from Memphis State University. She practiced family law for many years in both the private and public sectors in Memphis. In recent years, Shannon was a passionate advocate for animal rescue in general, and her beloved Italian Greyhounds in particular. She established a foundation for the safe-housing of dogs, and mentored many others on how they could do the same. She is survived by a brother, Tim Miller of Ft. Myers Beach, Florida, son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Tracy McClure of Memphis, and four grandchildren, Emily, Jake, Caroline, and Jessica. Services will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery on Monday, March 25, at 11:30 a.m. with interment to follow.
