Scott Montague's Obituary
A great man who always kept his house in order, Scott passed away peacefully at the age of 58 on October 3, 2023 in his home surrounded by friends and caretakers shortly after receiving one last visit from his father who loved him immensely.
He was born January 20, 1965 in Memphis, Tennessee to George Crawford Montague and Barbara Sue Shumaker.
He grew up with siblings Rhonda Venette Noriega (currently living in Memphis), Wendy Sue Sanders (Pensacola, FL), Marjorie Marie Campagna (Memphis) and George Alan Montague (Memphis). His longtime roommates in his Somerville group home included both Howard Moore and Mashaun Minor, who was Scott’s best friend. He leaves behind his loving caretakers who knew him well, including Latoya Chism, Mesheita Brown, Maxcine Sain, Kelvin Boyle, and Kizzie Rutherford. He is also survived by his blood-related aunts Annie Laura Billings and Tisha Griffin (Monette, MO) as well as his uncle James Rodgers Montague (Pearland, TX) in addition to many nieces and nephews.
“Scott fulfilled his purpose and touched many lives.
He no longer hurts and his teardrops have dried.
With his run now finished, God has opened the door,
And at last he is free from all pain forevermore.”
-Daddy
