Sarah Metcalf Borders' Obituary
Sarah “Sally” Metcalf Border, 59, died at home on June 18, 2009. Sally attended St. Mary’s School for Girls and graduated from White Station High School. She attended William Woods College and graduated from the University of Oklahoma. Sally went back to school at LSU, Shreveport and received an RN degree, specializing in oncology, which became her career. She was a dedicated and devoted nurse. Sally was an avid tennis player and a life-long animal lover. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Metcalf, Jr.and Lorraine Newton Metcalf. Sally leaves her daughters, Rebecca Sarah Borders of Memphis, Paige Elizabeth Borders of Shreveport; brothers, Robert Metcalf and Newton (Barbara) Metcalf. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Forest Hill Midtown Cemetery. The family requests that any memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or The Memphis Humane Society.
