Sara Adams' Obituary
Sara Steele Wiggins Adams, 83, of Memphis, widow of Charles Warren (Chuck) Adams, died Friday, April 25, 2009, at home. She was born on March 12, 1926, in Duncanville, Alabama. An active, devoted Christian, Sara was a member of Lindenwood Christian Church, where she was a Life Elder, a Stephens Minister, a past president of the Christian Women’s Fellowship, and a volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, a devoted mother, a generous friend, and most of all, an adoring grandmother. Sara is survived by her daughter, Sally Askew; her son-in-law, Lin; her grandsons, Will and Charles Askew, both of whom she loved more than her life; and her brother, James Minor Wiggins, Jr., of Jonesboro, Arkansas. Visitation will be at Lindenwood Christian Church on Tuesday, April 28, 2009, from 6:30-8:30. A memorial celebration will be held at Lindenwood on Wednesday, April 29, at 1:00, with a private graveside service later. The family requests that memorials be given to Lindenwood Christian Church or Memphis University School.
