Sandra Wise Tummins' Obituary
Sandy Wise Tummins, 66, died suddenly Friday evening from a severe case of pneumococcal pneumonia. A native Memphian, Sandy was a loving wife, mother and devoted friend, who will be deeply missed. Throughout her life she never met a stranger and never forgot a name. Sandy had a wonderful sense of humor and was an amazing story teller. Her stories were always full of detail, whit, expression, and spoken with her own southern dialect. Sandy had a long career in retail and taught spin and other classes at the YMCA. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Ollie Wise, and her loving husband, Ted Tummins. She leaves her cherished daughter Kim and son Tim Tummins, and her two rescue dogs, Ginger and Wally. The family will receive friends from 10 am until service time at 11 am, Wednesday, June 27 at St Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral, 648 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38105. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Real Good Dog Rescue or St. Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral.
