I wish that I could have known him better. I was his first born child from his first marriage to Joyce. He said his family wanted nothing to do with me and he had to keep the peace so I suffered in silence. I never got to spend more than a handful of visits scattered through the years. I have felt the pain of rejection now for 65 years. My children and grandchildren live in Memphis and I hope they will be treated kindly if ever your paths cross.
