Samuel Arthur Locastro Sr.'s Obituary
Samuel Arthur Locastro, Sr. passed away at home on May 22, 2026. He was 89 years old and affectionately known as the "Grump" by his extended family.
He was born on June 20, 1936, at St. Joseph Hospital and was the beloved son of the late Arthur Charles Locastro and Sue Hendren Locastro.
Sammy was preceded in death by his parents, sister Rosa (Sissy) Mills, and daughters Theresa Locastro and Deborah McEwen.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years Sharon Locastro, his son Sam Locastro, Jr. (Theresa), daughter Sherri Schwartz (Steve), son David Locastro, 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Sammy dedicated 30 years of his life to the Memphis Fire Department as a firefighter and paramedic. He touched countess lives through his dedication and compassionate care for those in need.
His favorite pastimes were hunting, camping, and traveling; creating lasting memories with family and friends. Sam will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Visitation for Mr. Locastro will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The funeral service will follow, beginning at 11:00 AM in the Fireside chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. The committal service will be held at the Rotunda of Memorial Park, beginning at 12:00 PM. Following services, a reception will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home, after committal.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to a charitable organization of the donor's choice.
