In Loving Memory of Samarra Rose Mirza
Samarra Rose Mirza, known affectionately as Sam, passed on the 16th of November, 2023. She was born on March 10, 2010, in the city of Memphis, TN, to her devoted parents, Imran and Bridget Mirza.
Sam embodied an extraordinary spirit that touched the lives of all who knew her. She was a fervent advocate for human rights, a voice for gender equality, and a champion for the preservation of our environment. Sam's heart, overflowing with empathy, sought to establish a world rooted in fairness and equity.
She found pleasure in solving puzzles and playing rounds of chess. Many times, she would spend hours drawing and making art in varied forms, including sculpture, anime, and knitting. Sam would speak on topics she felt passionately about and consistently acted in tandem with her high ideals.
Sam attended St. Mary's Episcopal School, where her thirst for knowledge flourished under the guidance of educators. Though her path was veiled in unforeseen tragedy, her love for learning will inspire those who were touched by her presence.
In this profound moment of grief, Sam leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories within the hearts of her family. She is survived by Imran and Bridget Mirza, her loving parents, and alongside them, her cherished sisters, Lily, Violet, and Laurel Mirza. Sam also leaves a web of treasured family members across generations as she joins her beloved grandfather, Loren Crown, and paternal grandparents, Gul Shaker Mirza and Sikander Mirza,
A gathering of remembrance will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119. All who were touched by Sam's spirit are invited to pay their respects during the visitation hours, from 12:00 pm until 2:30 pm on Saturday November 25th.2023. A graveside service will be held at a later time.
To honor Sam's life and her unwavering commitment to the causes dear to her, contributions may be made in her name. She held organizations such as Heifer International (www.heifer.org), ACLU (www.aclu.org), and World Wildlife Fund (www.worldwildlife.org) close to her heart, viewing them as beacons of hope and catalysts for change.
