Russell Williamson's Obituary
Russell Gordon Williamson, age 80, of Olive Branch, MS, passed away peacefully on Dec. 4, 2016. He was born in Greenfield, Tennessee on April 25, 1936, to Russell Lowell Williamson and Estelle Holder Williamson. Mr. Williamson retired from Williams Memphis Refinery. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and a master gardener. He loved nature and being outdoors. He ia known among his family and friends for his beautiful and bountiful gardens, especially for the blackberries he grew and shared each year. He enjoyed a lifetime of hunting and fishing adventures and loved sharing stories about his experiences. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Charlotte White Williamson. He was the loving and encouraging father of four children: Maria Williamson Lingerfelt (Mark); Russell Gordon Williamson, II (Cindy) of Tullahoma, Tennessee; Jeffery Williamson (Lisa) of Farringdon, England; and Kurt Williamson (June). He was dearly loved by his 12 grandchildren: Mitchell Lingerfelt (Kayla); Joshua Williamson (Emily); Russell Gordon Williamson, III (Kim); Angel Lingerfelt Jacobs (Tim); Erica Williamson Roszler (Joe); Carly Williamson; Hunter Williamson; Nick Lingerfelt; Matthew Williamson; Sarah Williamson; Jake Lingerfelt and Holden Williamson. He is a great-grandfather to eight great-grandchildren: Joshua Williamson, Jr.; Sammy Lingerfelt; Charlie Williamson; twins Cross and Cora Roszler; Teddy Lingerfelt; Hayes Jacobs and Russell Gordon Williamson, IV. He is survived by one sister, Montez Williamson Medling and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Sue Williamson Cochran, his sister, and Sam Williamson, his brother. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 19 from 1:00-2:00PM with the service to follow immediately at 2:00PM. All services will be held at Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Buckmaster American Deer Foundation to support disability hunts or the American Heart Association.
