Rufus "Buddy" Dawkins' Obituary
Rufus “Buddy” W. Dawkins, Jr., 94, of Memphis, died on October 31, 2010 at Ave Maria Assisted Living Nursing Home. He was a lifelong member of Highland Heights United Methodist Church serving on many committees. He is survived by his devoted wife, Snooks, of 74 years and their niece who has been like a daughter to them, Suzanne Owens (Nick) of Memphis. He is also survived by his sister Betty Arwood of Cherokee Village, Arkansas and many other beloved nieces and nephews, and friends. Buddy was an Electrical Inspector for the City of Memphis. He was a lifelong and oldest member of Electrical Union #474. The visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 3, at Ave. Maria Chapel on Charles Bryan Rd. in Bartlett, with service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Ave Maria Assisted Living or Highland Heights United Methodist Church.
