Rudy Bryant Brown's Obituary
Rudy Brown, 68, of Germantown, TN passed away on June 30th, 2016 ending his struggle with heart disease. Rudy was born in Portland, TN on September 12th 1947. He attended Portland High School, where he met his wife, Diane, and graduated in 1965. He went on to graduate from Western Kentucky University in 1969 with a BA in Accounting and became a CPA in 1981. After college Rudy was drafted into the Army and served in Vietnam from 1970-1971. When he returned home he began working for the state of Tennessee and eventually became a Postal Inspector for the United States Postal Service in 1973. Throughout his career Rudy was honored with, promotions to leadership positions, outstanding achievement awards and was personally selected as a Special Investigator for Office of Special Counsel to the Waco investigation. Rudy loved to travel and was fortunate enough to see the world through his experience in the Army and as a Postal Inspector. Rudy was a member of Covenant Baptist Church where he served on several committees until his health began to fail. He was an avid Memphis Tiger fan, holding season tickets to basketball and football games for 25 years. Rudy is survived by his wife Diane Brown of 48 years, His three children Tim, Troy and Tara Brown and his seven grandchildren who affectionately called him Graypa. His Funeral service will be on July 5th at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Visitation begins at 9:00AM and the Service will begin at 10:00AM. The burial will be at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on July 11th at 1:15. All friends are welcome to attend. Pallbearers are John Stinchfield, Nick Cook, Dick Klenz, Steve Orr, Al Rochelle and Jodie Hardin. Instead of flowers we ask that donations be made to Covenant Baptist Church or Wounded Warriors Fund. “Celebrating Life…..Behind the Stone Wall”.
