Rudolph Wayne Crockett's Obituary
Rudolph Wayne Crockett passed away at age 92 surrounded by family on May 16, 2025. He was a proud Air Force veteran where he served as military police. Following his military service he worked for E. H. Crump for 25 years, but his true passion was found being a commercial truck driver. He loved traveling and seeing the country for 20 years until his retirement in 2010.
Wayne was an incredible athlete which led to his love of sports his entire life. He loved fishing, hunting, golf and above all other sports, the Memphis Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs. He also loved all kinds of music and enjoyed listening regularly. The most important part of his life was his family. He was the King of Storytelling and would mezmerize you with all the stories of his life and adventures. He was loved and admired by everyone he knew and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce, of 68 years, daughter Leigh Sloan (Don) and grandchildren Rachel Grisanti, Jessica Pugh and Diana Sloan, son Matthew Crockett (Kim) and grandchildren Adam Crockett, Elizabeth Stringer, and Emily Crockett, and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, May 27, at 12:00 noon at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
