Roxie Shrewsbury's Obituary
Roxie Lee Shrewsbury passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Methodist Hospice House. Roxie was born January 20, 1930 in Royalton, Illinois. She was preceded in death by a brother William Bowling and her parents Chester and Velma Bowling. Roxie grew up in Chicago, Illinois and graduated High School and attended DePaul University in Chicago. Roxie worked as a secretary in Chicago in the FBI office and became a Flight attendant for American Airlines in Fort Worth, Texas where she met and later married her husband in June 1954 in Brookfield, Illinois. Roxie worked as a secretary for the Secretary of State in Austin, Texas while her husband graduated from The University of Texas. Roxie loved golf and was a member of the Tennessee Golden Girls and a longtime member of Colonial Country Club with her husband. Roxie is survived by her two children; Mark Shrewsbury from The Woodlands, Texas, and Lisa McLeod from Haslet, Texas and her loving husband of 60 years Bill. She has 5 grandchildren Andreanna and Alicia McLeod, Antoinette, Natalia and Andrew Shrewsbury. She also has a daughter in law Gloria Cantu Shrewsbury. There will be a celebration of her life at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11:30am.
