Rosina Martello's Obituary
Rosina Kathleen Collins Martello, 87, of Memphis, died peacefully at her home on Saturday, October 8, 2011. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Joseph A. Martello, Sr. Rosina was born in London, England, where she met and married her husband, while he served in the American Armed Forces during World War II. She was once a long time communicant of St. Anne’s Catholic Church on Highland, where she was a member of the Altar Society. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Memphis Council 616 of the Knights of Columbus. She is survived by her sisters and brother-in-law, Alfred and Joyce Courtneidge, Joan Grindlay, and Georgina Arnold, of England; her eight children, Toni V. Martello, Susan (Joseph) Hackney, Barbara (John) Esoldi, Michael (Pamela) Martello, Joseph A. (Paula) Martello, Jr., David Martello, Pamela (Rick) Bryant, and Carolyn (Henry) Hooker; her 16 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Avenue. Mass will be held Thursday, October 13, 11 a.m. at The Catholic Church of The Holy Spirit, 2300 Hickory Crest Drive, with burial at Southwoods Cemetery, 5484 Hacks Cross Road.
