Rosemary Fenton Harris' Obituary
Rosemary F. Harris, age 90, was called home by the Lord Saturday, December 24, 2016. She was born in Mark, Iowa September 18, 1926. When she was 18 she married the love of her life, Marvin W. Harris in April, 1945, just prior to Marvin’s departure on a U.S. Navy ship to serve in World War II. Several years later, Rosemary’s and Marvin’s lives were blessed by the birth of their son and only child, Mark. When Rosemary talked about life’s special events or memories, she would quickly tell you about the birth of her son and then would add how Mark blessed her and Marvin with a “daughter” upon his marriage to Beth which they thought completed their family. That is, it was complete until the birth of her cherished granddaughter, Abby, who “Meme” (Rosemary) considered to be a most special blessing and joy. Rosemary was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church for 28 years and a faithful member of the J.O.Y. Sunday School Class. Her love of the Lord and sharing Christ’s love with others was a most important part of Rosemary’s life. Rosemary was predeceased by her husband, Marvin W. Harris in April 2011, just prior to their 66th wedding anniversary. She is also predeceased by her parents, Ross and Fern Fenton; brother, Billy Fenton; and sister, Loretta Fenton Owens. Rosemary is survived by son, Mark W. Harris, and wife, Beth, Bartlett, TN; granddaughter, Abigail (Abby) E. Harris, Bartlett, TN; sister, Shirley F. Martin, and husband, Phil of Marion, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 9:30 – 10:30 am, Wednesday, December 28 followed by funeral services at Memorial Park Mausoleum Rotunda. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Bellevue Baptist Church Senior Adult Ministry or to Love Worth Finding. Her services have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis TN 38119.
