Rosemary Ahern Betzelberger's Obituary
Rosemary Ahern Betzelberger was born on June 19, 1920 and died October 4, 2014. She was 94 years old. After 44 years of marriage, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Wayne Betzelberger. She is survived by her two children, Steve Betzelberger of Dallas, Texas and Suzy Young (Jimmy) of Germantown, Tennessee. She loved her three granddaughters, Grace Young Smythe (Clay), Meghan Young Livingston (Scott) and Emily Young Phillips (Johnson). She was the proud great-grandmother of 11: Stan, James, and Leo Smythe of Memphis; Kolya, Farida, Charlotte, Anne, Jane and Peter Livingston of Washington, D.C.; Harry and Susannah Phillips of Nashville. She was a lover of home and family; a creative and hospitable hostess; a member of Friends of the Pink Palace and King’s Daughters Circle; and a believer and member of Woodland Presbyterian Church. As her children, we are so grateful to have been nurtured in this home. We honor and thank our parents for every sacrifice that was made because of their love for us. After a private family burial, a memorial service will be held at Woodland Presbyterian Church on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 11:30. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Woodland Presbyterian Church or the Neighborhood Christian Center.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, “Behind the Stone Wall.”
