Rosemarie Cross' Obituary
Rosemarie L. Cross, 88, passed away on May 15, 2015 after an extended illness. She is survived by her son, Mike Cross (Becky), her daughter, Vicki Thornton (Sam), 5 grandchildren, Neal, Corrie, Jim, Erika, and Andrew, 5 great grandchildren and her companion, Steve Wilson. Mrs. Cross was preceded in death by her husband, Algie Cross and her son, Jim Cross. Mrs. Cross was born in Germany and escaped the Russians in Berlin in 1945. She married Algie Cross, a U.S. Army occupation soldier and came to live in Memphis. Mrs. Cross retired from Oak Hall and spent many years volunteering for Baptist East Memorial Hospital. In 2012, at the age of 84, she received the Commercial Appeal’s Jefferson Award for being an outstanding volunteer, with more than 14,000 volunteer hours at Baptist East. Family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 pm Monday, May 18 with services to follow immediately. All services will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations be made to Baptist East Hospital.
