Ronny Gene Drewry's Obituary
Ronny Gene Drewry, of Collierville, TN, passed away on May 19, 2024 at the age of 78. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nancy R Drewry; his daughter, Cindy Drewry; son, David Drewry and daughter-in-law, Tina Drewry. Ron leaves 8 beloved grandchildren: Lilly Mattix (Colin), Noah German, Adam Drewry, Daniel German, Kristin Drewry, Mya Drewry, Joe Drewry and James Drewry. He, also, leaves his brother, Jeff Drewry (Barbara) and his sister, Carol Turner.
He was preceded in death by his son, Steven T Drewry; brother, Harlan Drewry and his parents, Joe and Stella Drewry.
Ron was a retired Air Traffic Controller at the Memphis International Tower/TRACON for the FAA. He retired as Operations Manager after 33 years. After retirement he volunteered for several years with the Collierville Police Department Special Citizen Volunteer Program. He loved his family, airplanes, woodworking, fishing and the St. Louis Cardinals. He was a great storyteller whose stories were almost always funny. Ron was a member of Collierville Presbyterian Church and a conservative who loved his country.
His family will have a visitation for him on Friday, May 24, 2024 from 11 to 1 o’clock at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Memphis with a graveside service directly following at Memorial Park Cemetery.
