Rodney Cheshire's Obituary
Rodney Cheshire, 68, passed away November 18, 2015. Rodney was born in Owensboro, Kentucky on July 12, 1947. He was the oldest of 12 children. Rodney lived in Memphis for over 45 years working as a contractor in home improvement and roofing. He had many nicknames and in turn gave nicknames to everyone. His nicknames included Chester and Ziggy. He loved cooking southern BBQ and his championship winning BBQ team was Ziggy’s Piggy’s. Rodney was kind, and generous with a welcoming spirit a memorable laugh and a contagious smile. He loved his family and friends and gave of himself to everyone around him.He was preceded in death by his father J.W. Cheshire and three brothers David Cheshire , Paul Cheshire, and Joseph Cheshire. He is survived by his wife Sheila Cheshire of Lakeland, TN, his daughter Shannon Deal (Charley)of Martin, TN, daughter Misty Risner (Chris) of Lakeland, TN son, Tony Cheshire of Memphis, TN; grandchildren Bryce Warren, Alex Deal, Drew Warren, Jessie Deal and Garret Risner. He is also survived by his mother Patricia Cheshire and seven siblings; Mark Cheshire (Sue) of Pflugerville, TX, Steve Cheshire (Joanne) of Rochester, N.Y., Mary McDoniel (Neal) of Spring Hill, TN, George Cheshire (Janice) of Memphis, TN, Becki Principe of Rochester, N.Y., Ruth Ann Scala (Bob) of Chesterfield, MO, Peggie Shipley (Kendall) of Memphis, TN and many nieces and nephews .He will be remembered with visitation at Memorial Park Funeral Homes on Tuesday November 24 from 5-7PM and a funeral mass at Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 10AM Wednesday November 25.
