Robert Miles Young's Obituary
Robert M. Young, 76, went to be with the Lord on July 27th, 2022 at his home in Coldwater, Mississippi. He leaves behind his wife Sheryld Young, his three children: son Jeff Young (Jennifer) of Smyrna, Tn. ; daughter Jennifer Tillman (Josh) of Camden, Arkansas; daughter Mary Lockhart (Chris) of Jackson, Tn; nine grandchildren: Ashley Young, Charlie Chessman (Kenneth),Russell Yaun(Kayela), Paul Young, Silas Young,Isaac Yaun, Christian Young, Luke Yaun, and Myra Lockhart. Four great-grandchildren: Elijah, Zeke, Solomon, and Jeremiah Chessman.
He was born January 16, 1946 in Memphis, Tennessee. He graduated Central High School in Memphis, Tn. He retired as a General Principle investment banker from NBC bank in 1996. He was an avid member of Southaven First United Church of Southaven, Mississippi. He enjoyed singing in the choir, Sunday School, and listening to books. He will be remembered for loving God, his generous spirit, and his ability to reach people through laughter and friendship.
He was preceded by his parents, Mary and Woodrow Young, his brother, Woody Young, and his sister Brenda Calamis.
The funeral service will be held on August 1, 2022 at 2:00pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Memphis, Tennessee with an interment at Memorial Park Cemetery. The visitation will be held from 1:00pm to the time of the service.
Memorial donations may be made to Southaven United Methodist Church or The Care Center in Southaven, Mississippi.
