Robert Staten's Obituary
Robert E. Staten 82 of Memphis passed away March 16, 2014. Robert was the oldest of 5 siblings. Irene (Ken) Slater of Georgia, Elaine (Delmer) Oldbury of Mauriceville, TX. Joyce Ramiro of Memphis. Joyces husband, Oscar died in 2002. Raymond Staten (Shirley) of Como, MS. His brother Kenneth (Glinda) passed away March 17, 2014. Robert leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Robert was born in Memphis, Tennessee. He attended Little Flower Catholic School, Vollintine Elementary School, Snowden Jr. High, and graduated from Bartlett High School. Prior to enlisting in the Air Force, Robert had a paper route and worked at Goldsmith’s Department Store. Robert was a Baptist and a former member of McLean Baptist Church and Raleigh Baptist Church. Robert was a quiet man who loved classical music, a good cup of coffee, spending time with his siblings especially his sister Joyce, tinkering with radios and traveling by train. Robert greatly appreciated any kindness shown to him and went to great lengths to thank any and everyone.
