Robert William Starr's Obituary
Robert William “Bob” Starr, 79, died Monday, July 5, 2010 at Methodist Germantown Hospital. He was a graduate of Southside High School. Mr. Starr was a member of Germantown Baptist Church where he served in various capacities and was the President of the Tom Daniels Sunday School Class. He had a wonderful sense of humor, was always very positive, and was generous with both his time and money. Bob faithfully served General Motors for 45 years in multiple job responsibilities within the sales organization. He loved his job, but his family was his life! Mr. Starr is survived by his wife, and best friend, of 58 years, Barbara Massey Starr, and three children, Bill and Cindy Starr of Bowling Green, KY; Lisa Starr of Minneapolis, MN; and Kathy and Dan Drews of St. Louis, MO; one brother, Milton & Elsie Starr of Memphis. He was “Pop Pop” to his 5 grandchildren, Bethany and Danny Sharp; Janell and Krish Iyer; Jordan and AJ Aspinwall; Danielle Drews, and Amanda Drews; and 5 great-grandchildren, Will Sharp, Hannah Sharp, Holly Mae Sharp, Jaya Iyer, and Jesse Aspinwall. A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 7, from 5 6:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at Memorial Park. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to either the Salvation Army or The Church Health Center.
