I was shocked and very saddened to hear of Palmer’s passing. He was a wonderful and passionate man who loved his family, friends and profession. I hadn’t seen Palmer in many years but he is someone that you will never forget. I was going to be in Memphis and I was excited about the thought of reconnecting with him and when I reached out to a former colleague and was informed of Palmers passing, I was deeply hurt and to see his picture on his obituary brought back so many great memories that I got emotional. I wanted to thank Palmer for his support, for his guidance and dare I say friendship. I will never forget Palmer and I am so sorry that I never had the opportunity to say “Thanks”! I am so sorry to see the passing of Palmer. He and I were grammar school sweethearts first through third grade at Glendale Elementary School in Nashville. We both lived on Outer Drive during this time. I still tell the story that he had a birthday party in third grade and we played spin the bottle and he was the first boy I ever kissed. I have such fond memories of him. He was such a sweet and cute boy and by his picture he has not changed a bit. We kept in touch until the late 70’s.
