I had the privilege of knowing Bob as law partner , a friend ,a bother in Christ and a passenger in plane when he was flying. Bob was the best tax lawyer I ever knew but he was even a better person. The best or worst memories i have of Bob were flying with him . The first time I ever flew with him he kept using a fountain pen to push a button on the instrument panel. When we landed he said I need to gas up and have something checked out . I said is there a problem ? He said did you notice me pushing the button with my pen and I said yes.He said I was not sure the landing gear was working but it did . Just want to have it checked.
I have other adventures but the one I remember the most is when we were coming back from Nashville one winter night and freezing rain was hitting the windshield. Bob gave me a flashlight and told me to see if ice was forming on the wings . I told him I do not see any ice. About 30 minutes later we landed and Bob said do you understand the danger of ice on the wings and I said yes. He said you are one calmest person i have ever seen in this situation. I can not believe that you went to sleep. I said i was not sleeping i was praying . Bob said it worked .
I was truly blessed to have known. Bob He was a gift of sunshine on a cloudy day
