Robert Paul Raney's Obituary
Robert Paul Raney passed away in his home in Germantown, TN, on June 17, 2009.Paul was born to Clem England Raney and Jettie May Pickens on March 3, 1929 in Decaturville, TN. He was married to the love of his life, Catherine Mitchell, for 52 years.Paul proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years. He served as an elder, deacon and in missions for the First Christian Church in Ferguson, MO, where he was known for his dedication and gentle nature. He retired in 1992 as a Master Machinist from McDonnell Douglas Aircraft in St. Louis, MO. Since retirement, he has lived in Germantown, TN, where he was a member of East Win Christian Church, an avid gardener, an enthusiastic fisherman, and a wonderful man.Paul dedicated his life to his wife and his family. He was a beloved father and grandfather.He is survived by his wife, Catherine, his daughter Bridget Johnson and son-in-law Dr. Robert Johnson of Germantown, TN; daughter Pamela Fragano and son-in-law Gregory Fragano of Dallas, Texas, and daughter Anita Zandbergen and son-in-law Ronald Zandbergen of Virginia Beach, VA.; his seven grandchildren Anthony Paridy, Paul Paridy, Stephen Johnson, Shane Regan, Nathan Johnson, Catherine Regan, and Alexander Fragano.He is also survived by his siblings, brother Hollis Raney, and sisters Johnnie May Wyatt and Lexie White, all of Decaturville, TN, and numerous nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held at 10:00 am with funeral services following at 11:30 am at Memorial Park Funeral Home on June 19, 2009. Burial services will follow at 1:00 at West Tennessee State Veteran’s Cemetery
