Robert (Bob) N. Stanley's Obituary
Robert (Bob) Stanley, 91, passed away September 3, 2016. Bob graduated from Southside High School in 1944. He played basketball for Ole Miss University in 1947 and baseball for the original Memphis Chicks. Some of Bob’s hobbies included water sports, pool, and golf. He retired from MLG&W after 25 years of service. He then worked for several years at A. S. Barboro before retiring again. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sis Stanley; 1 daughter, Karen Herrington; 3 grandchildren, Cindy, Robbie, Dustin Herrington and his wife, Britni Herrington; and 3 great-grandchildren, Andrew and Gunner Herrington and Annabelle Hall. The family would like to thank Bob’s caregiver, Shirley Burside. The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm, Wednesday, September 7, followed by services in the Mausoleum Rotunda at Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital.Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, “Celebrating Life Behind the Stone Wall”
