Robert T Nolen's Obituary
Robert Taylor Nolen Sr (Bob), 81 peacefully entered the presence of his Lord and savior on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Methodist Germantown Hospital with his family by his side.
He was born on September 29th, 1942 in Jackson, Tn.
He leaves behind his beloved son Taylor, four grandchildren, Alyssa, Emily, Taylorgrace, and Jackson Nolen, The children's mother Rebekah Nolen, a great grandson, Arterio, and many other family and friends. Robert is also survived by his brother Charles Nolen III. of Jackson, Tn.
He was welcomed into heaven by his wife Gene Nolen and his parents Catherine and Charles Nolen II.
Robert was an alumni of Christian Brother's University and also attended Memphis State University -
Over the years Mr. Nolen was an electrical engineer for Cummins and other local big name companies, such as; Caterpillar and Zenith. Robert Also worked with the Boeing Company in Huntsville Alabama as a test engineer with NASA. In the early 1990's he started his own sales rep business known as Nolen sales agency, with only the help of a word processor. His honors include being a featured engineer of the year, three years in a row for Cummins. He had a passion for electronics since he was in high school.
Robert also had a special place in his heart for sports. He was a proud season ticket holder for Memphis State football and basketball for over 15 years. He also enjoyed playing golf with his son Taylor and watching weekly football of the Tennessee VOLS and attending games yearly. Robert also loved playing tennis weekly with his teammates. He remained very active physically and socially, everyone who met Robert was sure to love him. He was a member of second Presbyterian church of Memphis, Tn He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, bible study group, and the members of his tennis team.
The family will receive friends from 1-2pm, on Saturday, July 27th, 2024 at memorial park funeral home, with a graveside service to follow at 2pm.
Flowers can be sent directly to the family or sent to the American cancer society.
