Robert Nanney's Obituary
Robert “Bob” C. Nanney Jr., 84, of Bartlett, TN, passed away on april 5, 2011. He was born on August 30, 1926, in Booneville, MS to the late Rev. Robert and Bertha Faye Nanney. He is survived by his wife Mary B. Nanney, daughter Patricia McAtee Rathheim of Memphis, sonsDennis Nanney of L.A., CA, Charles Nanney of New York, NY, a grandson Matthew McAtee of Memphis, great grandchildren, Chelsea McAtee and Christopher McAtee II of Houston, TX a sister Eunice Faulk of Hernando, MS. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher McAtee of Memphis, TN. Robert proudly served his country as a naval Chief Petty Officer in WWII. He served on the U.S.S. Birmingham. He was awarded 5 bronze stars, the Presidents’ Unit Citation and the Naval Cross. He retired from Kimberly Clark in Memphis. He took great joy in serving others and great pride in his family. All who knew him could count on his winnings smile and his laughter. He will be missed by his family and a host of friends. His family will receive friends from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Thursday, April 7, 2011, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:30pm on Friday, April 8, 2011, at Memorial Park.
