Robert McCarty's Obituary
Robert McCarty, 54, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 in Ringgold, GA. Robert grew up in Memphis, TN and attended Union University. He graduated from the University of Memphis with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism. He was employed at Volunteer Energy Cooperation in the Marketing and Economic Development department. Robert was a former deacon of Evergreen Presbyterian Church in Severville, TN, and an avid University of Memphis Tigers and Pittsburgh Pirates fan. Robert is survived by his son, Samuel “Sam” McCarty, two step daughters, Kyndall Smyre (Perry) and Karissa Meeks, his mother, Bobbie McCarty, four sisters, Sharon Moss (Grant), Cindie Wrenne, Vickie Lindsay (Scott) and Suzanne McCarty, grandchildren, Merek and Ryland, lifelong friend, Darren Gibson (Angela) and numerous nieces and nephews. His wonderful sense of humor and love of life will be missed by his many friends and family members. A celebration of life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Memphis, TN with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the charity of your choice or the Samuel McCarty Education Fund, in care of Suzanne McCarty, 5721 Ashbriar Ave., Memphis TN 38120.
