Robert L. Hardin's Obituary
Robert L Hardin “Bob”, 83, of Memphis passed away Saturday, September 11, 2011 at the home of his son, Tim Hardin and wife, Linda of Olive Branch, MS. Survivors include his sons: Robert L Hardin, Jr. and his wife, Mary Jane of Cleveland, TN, Kenneth L Hardin and his wife, Sharon of Charlotte, NC, and Timothy B Hardin and his wife, Linda of Olive Branch, MS; grand-children: Christi, Rebekah, Emily, Kenny, Mandy, Christina and Justin; brother: Michael Musso. Bob was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and was preceded in his death by his wife of 54 years, Betty Hardin. Bob and Betty met at Southside High School and wed in 1949. Bob enlisted in the US Army toward the end of World War II serving primarily with the reconstruction of Poland and the Korean War. He returned to Memphis after his discharge. Bob retired from the Federal Postal Service in 1975 and was active in retirement with his church, family and golfing friends. Bob and his family are grateful to Jeanette Jones, her crew and Hospice for all the support, love and care during Bob’s last years. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Memorial Park, and the burial will follow in Southwoods Cemetery.
