Robert Lee Halford Sr's Obituary
Robert Lee Halford, Sr., lovingly known as Bob, aged 88 of Memphis, TN, passed at 1:19 a.m. on August 26, 2021. He is greeted in Heaven by his loving wife, Shirley Ann Halford. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hollis Henry Halford, Sr. and Mary Lou, and his three brothers, Hollis Jr., Frank, and Jack. He leaves behind his daughter, Luanne Payne (Mike), his son, Robert Lee Halford, Jr., and three grandchildren (Lara, Holly, and Chris). Bob graduated from Memphis State after serving in the Army and Korean War from 1952 to 1955 as a Crypto Specialist. Bob married his beloved, Shirley Ann, on August 17, 1958 and shared 52 loving years together. Throughout his life he maintained an unrivaled devotion to caring for his son, Lee. Following his retirement as the founding Human Resources Director at St. Francis-Park he could always be found with one of his grandchildren or in his toolshed out back fixing things that were not broken. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him but especially so by his family with whom he lived for the last eleven years.
He will be laid to rest next to his wife in a private grave side ceremony.
