Robert Rich Fallis' Obituary
Robert Rich Fallis, 85, passed away July 31, 2012 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was born September 1926 in Wynne, AR, the second son of W.E. and Pauline Rich Fallis. Robert grew up in the Smith Chapel Community. He graduated from Wynne High School and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from University of Mississippi. He served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946 on the USS Kidd. Robert’s entire business career has been devoted to land developing and building construction in the Tri-State area surrounding Memphis, TN. He was a member of the 5 Lakes Hunting and Fishing Club, Memphis Country Club, and Second Presbyterian Church. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer, playing with “The Dogs” for over 40 years. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Fallis and brothers, W.E. Fallis and Paul Fallis and is survived by his wife, Christine Garrett Fallis; children, Robert Fallis, Helen Henderson, and Cavett Fallis; sister, Jackie Fallis; brother, Thomas Jo Fallis; grandchildren, Joanna, Little Bart, and Marshall; great grandchildren, George and Emery; step children, Dr. Ed Garrett, Crissy Haslam, and Jon Garrett; step grandchildren Katie Andrew, Cristen, Will, Annie, Leigh, Gaines, and Jonathan; and step great grandchildren, Louise, Wilkes, and Wyatt. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the service begins at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 3 at Second Presbyterian Church, Chapel. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. at Smith Chapel Cemetery in Wynne, AR. The family requests memorials be directed to Church Health Center or Second Presbyterian Church.
