Robert E. Hearn's Obituary
Robert E. Hearn went to be with his heavenly father on Sunday, January 24, 2016. Robert (Bob), was born on November 14, 1924, to James Hale Hearn and Julia Middleton Hearn in Memphis, TN. Bob married the love of his life LaRisa Waters on November 5, 1945. Bob was the loving father to Glenn Edward Hearn (Carolyn Ann) and Gary Wayne Hearn (Linda), proud grandfather to Gina Hearn Nickens, Melanie Hearn Rizer and Jeffery Hearn, great grandfather to Stephen Nickens and Brayden Hearn. His family was his joy in life, he was so proud of each of them and was always so glad to see them walk through the door. The day after Pearl Harbor Bob join the Navy, even though he was under age. He spent the next four years serving in various areas of the Pacific as an electrician mate aboard the USS Saratoga CV-3. Serving his country was an honor to Bob, his love for and honor of serving never dying. A dedicated family man, Bob provided for his family by working with South Central Bell for 35 years, proudly accomplishing a perfect attendance record for the entirety of his employment. Many AT&T buildings in Western Tennessee were in excellent condition because of his diligence. Bob had a deep rooted faith and could often be found reading his bible during quiet time, it was always by his side these past several years. Gardening was a passion of his, spending hours working on his lawn. He was an avid Grizzlies and Tigers fan. He is survived by his wife, LaRisa, sons, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, sister, Dorothy Sims and nieces, nephews and other extended family members to numerous to mention but cherished by him. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Geraldine Roberts, and James (Jake). The family wishes to thank everyone for all the thoughts and prayer. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the service begins at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 27 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery….”Celebrating Life…..Behind the Stone Wall”.
