Robert J. Dunlap Jr.'s Obituary
Robert J. Dunlap, Jr, 95, of Memphis went to be with the Lord on October 23, 2021.
“Joe” as he was known by his friends was employed by the H.S. Humphrey’s Co. ultimately retiring as President and CEO.
He was a WWII veteran serving in the Pacific theater assigned to General Douglas Mac Arthur’s private security detail while in Tokyo, Japan. During the Korean War he served stateside with the rank of 1st Sgt. USAF. He was a continuous American Legion member for 65 years and lifetime member of the Forty and Eight.
Proceeded in death by his wife of 72 years Betty Glynn in 2015. Joe leaves behind three sons, Michael Ross (Barbara), George Bennett (Vicki), Robert Joe (Deborah). He was affectionately known as “Papa Joe” by his three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A private service will be held.
