Robert Cardosi's Obituary
Robert W. Cardosi, Sr., of Memphis, 72, died suddenly at home June 17, 2012. He was born May 21, 1940 and was a graduate of Catholic High in 1959. He was the owner of Cardosi Swifty Bear Grocery Stores and most recently the owner of Mid-South Swap Meet in Southaven, MS. He was the son of the late Louise and Evo Cardosi of Memphis. He leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Betty Sloan Cardosi. He is survived by six children: Bob Cardosi, Jr. (wife Anita) of Germantown: Julie Haag (husband Lee) of Germantown; Rowell Cardosi (wife Mary Anne) of Germantown; Jackie Sciara (husband Eric) of Nolensville, TN; Pat Cardosi (wife Tammy) of Oakland TN; and Wendy Cagle (husband Jeff) of Memphis. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Austin Cardosi, Erin Cardosi, Jordan Haag, Allen Cardosi, John Thomas Sciara, Jason Haag, Joey Cardosi, Maggie Sciara, Ashley Cardosi, Bethany Sciara, Emily Cardosi, Margaret Cagle and Patrick Cagle. He leaves behind six brothers and sisters: Harry Cardosi, Gene Cardosi, Larry Cardosi and Anita Wilkins and the late Dr. Edward “Bip” Cardosi and Mary Ann Raffanti. He had a special love for all of his family and his four dogs: Sugar, Sassy, Poochie and Baby Girl. Visitation will be held Sunday at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Poplar Avenue from 1-4 with the Rosary service at 4 p.m. The funeral and Mass will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church located at 2300 Hickory Crest at 11 a.m. Monday. Any memorials should be directed to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Memphis Humane Society.
