I have the pleasure of sharing high school memories with Bobby. I didn’t move to Conway until my Junior year, but tonight I got out my 1965 yearbook and read what he wrote: ” for the new girl, you sure did fit in.” Thank you, Bobby, for the good times. Your kindness will be remembered forever. My thoughts and prayers are with your sons and daughters. And I know, there is a Class of 1965 Reunion in heaven. You will be missed. GREAT GUY GREAT FRIEND AS WAS WALTER ED. THEY WILL NOW BE REUNITED WITH EACH OTHER AND THEIR PARENTS. NO MORE PAIN. SORRY TO LOSE THEM HERE BUT THAT IS SELFISH OF US. THEY ARE IN A MUCH BETTER PLACE
Bobby always had a smile for everyone, and it’s lighting up heaven now. He’s left us too soon, but we each have a happy memory of good times we shared with him. More than a good friend, I think he was a great dad, with four wonderful children who carry on his legacy. My thoughts and prayers are with you now in your sadness. Janice Nixon Spann, CHS Class of 1965
Bobby was a dear friend for a very long time….we were originally friends in college at UCA 1966-67. We played bridge nearly every day together with a wide menagerie of other UCA folk. He was certainly one of a kind and just a dandy one, at that. Will miss him and hope that his family finds blessings and peace. Anne Wallace Crighton
Bobby was a sweet friend with whom I had the pleasure of growing up. He was always kind, funny, had the cutest smile and made everyone feel good! When I look at this photo of the handsome man, I see the sweet funny boy with the precious smile and the infectious enthusiasm for life he shared with all of us. I’m sending sympathy to you, his children and family, who I know have heavy hearts right now. I know too the memories of how loved you were by him and how much you loved him. Trust that the fun, sweet times you shared with get you through and continue to light your lives forever.
Bobby was a dear friend who could ALWAYS make me laugh. On this sad day, memories are of his love for his children. I can still remember the pride in his eyes the first time I met each of you. Porter, you were just a little kid when your dad pointed to “his son” displaying some impressive kicks at taekwondo class in LR. Blake, during a concert on Beale Street, I saw his enormous pride in your amazing drumming skills. Lindsey & Kristen, that time he brought you to Lake Ouachita for a day of boating fun, with his incredible sense of humor, he was so very protective & loving. It was also obvious at those times (& anytime he talked about you), that he knew how loved he was by all of you. I hope memories of that love will help you during this heartbreaking time. Your family has been & will continue to be in my prayers.
I have known Bobby since 1969 when we were in the Air Guard and together began learning how to golf. We have played many many rounds of golf over the last 45 years. He got me into the investment business in 1979. He was a terrific guy and a close and dear friend. Bobby will certainly be missed. Rest in Peace.Robert G. McLean
