Riner Jay Fletcher's Obituary
Riner Jay Fletcher, 73, of Germantown, TN, died Tuesday, January 12, 2010. He was born on September 21, 1936 in Memphis, TN to the late Andrew Jay and Marie Searce Fletcher. He was a graduate of South Side High School and received a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from the University of Memphis. Riner served in the United States Marine Corps. He was an active member of Crossroads United Methodist Church where he served as head usher. He was retired from the Customer Service Department of Dana Corporation and seved on the Board of Directors of Aintree Farms Homeowners Association. Riner was the Past President of the Midsouth Football Officials Association, the Southeast Memphis Football League, The Parkway Village Baseball League, and the Harding Academy Booster Club. He was also the Past President of the Village Area Council, the Parkway Village Jaycees, was an Optimist Internal Representative and a volunteer for the St. Jude Hospital’s Championship Golf tournament. He leaves his wife of fifty years, Carol Odom Fletcher, his high school and college sweetheart; son, Andy Fletcher (Andrea); grandson, Drew Fletcher of Olive Branch, MS; daughter, Lisa Fletcher Branim (Steve) of Cordova, TN.
