Richard Anthony Zini – Retired Air Force Master Sergeant, Retired MPD DispatcherRichard Zini, 67, of Memphis. Tennessee, son of the late Gayton and Glena (nee Cullwell) Zini, died of heart failure on Thursday March 5th at Baptist Memorial Hospital.Mr. Zini graduated from Treadwell High School in 1965 after which he proudly joined the United States Air Force. During his 24 year military career, he was awarded many service commendations for his work in Air Traffic Control. In 1990 he returned to Memphis and was employed at the Memphis Police Department as a Dispatcher. He retired from there in 2006.Mr. Zini was a hard-working man who loved his family, friends and pets dearly. He was a devoted member of Bellevue Baptist Church and reveled in his Christianity.Mr. Zini leaves behind a daughter, Angel Zini-Eiserman and son-in-law, Bill Eiserman. He is also survived by a grandson and his wife, Nicholas and Alesha Maglio and a great-grandson, Matthew.Whether you called him “Richard, Rick, Master Sergeant Zini, Brother Zini, Mr. Zini, Granddad or Daddy” he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, March 10 and funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 11 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. Burial will follow in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
