Richard Ernest Smith's Obituary
Richard Ernest Smith, of Bartlett, TN, went home to be with his Lord on August 14, 2011 at the Tennessee State Veterans Home, after a long illness with Parkinson’s disease. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 17th from 4:00 – 7:00, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 18th at 2:00, at Bellevue Baptist Church, with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. He was a proud U.S. Marine Veteran having served in Vietnam. He was an active member of Bellevue Baptist Church and a retired pilot with FedEx. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Judy Smith; a daughter, Jennifer Smith of Cordova, TN. He is also survived by a daughter, Samantha Knowles of Grapevine, TX; and a son, Martin Smith of Cartersville, GA; sisters, Patricia (Cecil) Franzina and Anitra (Joe) Hughey both of Mesquite, TX.
