Richard Eversfield Sens' Obituary
Richard Eversfield Sens, 35 passed away peacefully after a 13 year battle with cancer (medulloblastoma). For the past year he lived in Horn Lake, MS but spent the first 34 years in Alexandria, Virginia. He passed on Thursday, February 28, 2020 at his home in MS.
Richard was born at Georgetown Hospital in Washington DC. Growing up he enjoyed collecting baseball cards, playing video games, going to movies, and loved theme parks (there wasn’t a roller coaster he wouldn’t ride). He graduated from Nashville Auto Diesel College in 2005 and worked in the field until he was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2007. During times of remission he worked in audio/video editing, web design, wedding photography, and assistant teaching/tutoring in advanced math.
Richard never complained about this disease or the treatments he had to go through. His final treatment was at St. Jude Research Hospital in Memphis, TN which is why he moved from VA in March 2019. He loved his dog, Harley, bicylicing, photography, cooking, and watching/discussing movies with family and friends.
Richard fought the good fight, he finished his course, and he kept the faith. Richard loved the Lord, loved his family and friends and never lost hope in a cure for his cancer. Everyone who met him, loved him! He was an extraordinary young man.
Richard is being cremated without services. Plans for a service back in Virginia have not been finalized. His parents, Guy & Kathy Sens, have set up a St. Jude Gift Fund in memory of Richard. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Jude Research Hospital, at
