Richard Nottage's Obituary
Richard Thomas Nottage passed away January 26, 2015. Always fascinated by life, Richard was a kind and generous man with a quiet but quick wit who seemed to truly appreciate life and all it has to offer. Richard was born in Cleveland, Ohio Oct. 10, 1930 to Charles and Catherine Nottage. A lifelong Catholic, he served as a altar boy growing up, and attended Cathedral Latin School and John Carroll University in Cleveland. Richard worked for the Clevite Corporation for 40 years in accounting and computer programming. He taught COBOL at Cleveland State University. Eventually Richard’s work moved him to the Clevite facility in Collierville. After retirement, he worked for the United States Postal Service. After that, he volunteered at the Germantown Public Library, and was named Volunteer of the Year for 2012. Richard enjoyed reading, computers, movies, baking cookies and sharing them with everyone he knew. Richard married Joan Lausche, July 26, 1956. She passed away August 2013, and they will be laid to rest together at Memorial Park Cemetery. He was a precious soul with an unending and endearing humor. He always had a smile which showed his heart of gold and his bright spirit. Richard leaves behind his Sister, Mary Jane Nottage of Solon, Ohio, who will dearly miss him as will all the many friends whose life Richard touched.A celebration of his life will be Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 2 pm. At Memorial Park Funeral Home.
